Falken Motorsports scores two top-10 finishes at third round of Nürburgring Endurance Series

Falken Motorsports finished the third round of the Nürburgring Endurance Series, the 54th Adenauer ADAC Rundstrecken-Trophy, with a double top-10 result. After four hours, the two teal and blue Porsche 911 GT3 R, driven alternately by Sven Müller, Nico Menzel and Martin Ragginger, finished fifth and eighth. The strong overall result gives hope for the legendary 24-hour race in the Eifel, which takes place in just five weeks.

At the third round of the Nürburgring Endurance Series season, Falken Motorsports focused on preparing for the popular endurance classic, the 24h race at the Nürburgring. The two Porsche 911 GT3 R cars were therefore piloted by an identical driver line-up from Nico Menzel, Martin Ragginger and Sven Müller. In the morning qualifying session, which took place in cool but sunny conditions, the #3 Porsche finished on eleventh position, while the #4 sister car secured 17th on the grid.

However, Falken Motorsports used the third round of the Nürburgring Endurance Series not only to gather further knowledge with the new 992-series Porsche 911 GT3 R and the further developed slick tires, but also to demonstrate the potential of the brand new GT3 bolides. At ideal conditions and on a clear track, the two cars circled the legendary “Green Hell” in less than eight minutes.

Both Porsches fought their way into the leading group over the course of the race thanks to consistently lap times, solid tire performance and trouble-free pit stops. The close but fair duels with the competition provided entertainment and made not only the motorsport fans at the Nordschleife cheer: After four hours, the Falken drivers could be happy about positions five and eight.

The Japanese tire brand returns to the Nordschleife as early as next weekend. At the ADAC 24h Qualifiers, the team will prepare for the season’s highlight, the ADAC Total Energies 24h Race (18th -21st May, 2023).
