Young Guns Race to the Podium

Falken Performance Ambassadors Scott McLaughlin and Nick Percat take out first and second place on Sunday, Race 28 at the Sydney Motorsport Park 400.

Both Scott McLaughlin and Nick Percat had rough drives on Saturday. Percat placed 19th, battling poor visibility and getting hit close to the end in both races, causing him to spin and lose his position. McLaughlin was unable to finish in both races, with an unlucky turn of events including a wheel falling off on the first lap of Race 27.

So when Sunday turned around, it was clear they both had unfinished business, with McLaughlin qualifying in pole position, and Percat qualifying in 3rd.

During Sunday’s Race 28, Scott McLaughlin was experiencing a lot of wear on his front tyres, fighting to stay in first position. Afterwards he said he felt relived when he crossed the finish line, as Percat was right on his tail, with only milliseconds between them in the end.

Percat was racing hard and fast, knowing that McLaughlin was experiencing tyre issues. He fought as hard as he could, saying he wished he had a couple of extra laps to possibly take out first place.

Both McLaughlin and Percat showed their strength and skill, with Percat arguably having one of the best races of his career so far. With Sandown 500 coming up, we are excited to see how they race, going into it pumped up and ready to repeat their performance from Sunday. Go hard boys!
